British NGO to Cooperate for Qualitative Improvement in Primary Education

Minister Kunwar Shah Participates in Education Convention in London  

Bhopal: A British N.G.O. ‘Bridge’ working in the field of school education has expressed interest for cooperation to bring qualitative improvement in primary education in Madhya Pradesh. Minister for School Education Kunwar Vijay Shah had participated in the Education World Forum held at London a few days ago. He was accompanied by Director State Education Centre Lokesh Jatav. It may be mentioned that forum is a council of education ministers of the world, where deliberations are made on works and reforms in the field of education. Education Ministers of 80 countries took part in the world forum meeting.

Bridge has shown interest to run few primary schools of the state on Private-Public Partnership (PPP) model. Under the model, arrangements of teachers and other management works in the selected schools will be undertaken by the NGO.

Minister Kunwar Shah went to Cambridge University during his tour of London. He conversed with people linked to the education field and students during his visit. Moreover Kunwar Shah visited Hackney Institute. Beside school studies, children are provided training on various skills like electronic equipments repairing, hospitality and nursing etc. in the institute. This training facilitates children to get employment in future. Moreover, Kunwar Shah visited Office of the Indian High Commissioner and participated in Republic Day programme.

Training to English Language Teachers

Training is being imparted to the teachers of English language of various districts of Ujjain division and Sehore district by the British Council. Over 7, 500 teachers have been imparted training till now. The School Education department of the state has started 219 primary and 235 middle schools of English medium in the state. Around 11 thousand students are pursuing studies through English medium in these schools. Also deliberation in this regard took place in the World Forum meeting.-WTN
