Minister Paras Jain Visits Solar Thermal Power at Mount Abu

Bhopal: Minister for Energy Paras Jain visited One megawatt Solar Thermal Power plant ‘India-1’established by the Government of India in cooperation of organizations of Germany at Mount Abu Road, Rajasthan.

Providing information about the project, Plant Officers have informed that this is the first Solar Thermal plant of India. Energy is being transformed into heat in pipes by accumulating sun rays. Water passing thorough pipes converted into steam which runs the turbine to produce electricity. It is beneficial as it does not need solar panels and accumulation of heat continues generate power at night also. This plant produces 54 lakh units every year. A 65 percent grant has been given by the Union Government in this project. This has been established in the joint venture of Brahamakumari Ashram situated at Mount Abu and India Care Berlin, Germany.

Appreciating the plant Jain said that initiative will be taken to establish such kind of plant in Madhya Pradesh too.-WTN
