Minister Jayant Malaiyya lauded the dance performance of Sagar Chouhan, a village lad during a Jan-Samvad programme in Gulgaon. He welcomed a girl child born under the Swagatam Lakshmi Yojana. He said from the next session onwards Class 9 will commence in Gulgaon. He said the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’-Seva Yatra was neither a political yatra nor was it a sarkari yatra, instead it has been started to keep the Narmada river free of pollution and to keep its water pure. Minister Malaiyya said the Narmada river is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh which is closely linked to our lives but owing to selfish interests, the Narmada river is polluted today and its water flow is decreasing. He said that human beings have destroyed forest cover on the banks of the river Narmada for their vested interest. Head of Gau Palan, Pashu Samvardhan Board Mahamandleshwar Akhileshwaranand Maharaj named the newly-born girl child Pratikralpa after Ma Narmada. Among those who took part in the programme included Mandhata MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar, Nagar Parishad Mundi chairman Santosh, Sadhvi Manjudas, public representatives, villagers in large numbers, students, youth and sadhus.-WTN
