Youths Must Keep Away from Addiction to Eradicate Cancer from Roots : MoS Sarang

Bhopal: Minister for Cooperative, Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Relief and Rehabilitation (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang said that youths must keep away from addiction to eradicate cancer from its roots and should make their life style better. Sarang was inaugurating the seminar on “Cancer Jagrukta Evam Tambakhu Nishedh” on the occasion of World Cancer Day.

Sarang said that medical science has progressed rapidly. Treatment of cancer is possible now which used to frightened earlier. Misconception about cancer has been eliminated. He mentioned that it is necessary to bring changes in our eating habits to prevent cancer and other diseases. Quit tobacco, cigarette and liquor consumption, especially youths must take this resolution. He further said that there is a need for wide scale public awareness campaign to fight against serious diseases like cancer. He administered pledge to the youths present on the occasion for de-addiction.

Vice Chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Committee Rameshchandra Agarwal said that better resources have been made available in the hospital for treatment of cancer diseases. He said that this hospital has become the powerful medium in Madhya Pradesh to treat cancer patients.

Check up from time to time is must for prevention, timely diagnosis and for treatment of cancer. Agarwal further said that free check up camps will be organised in the areas of public representative of Bhopal if they wish so. He informed that many people benefited from the free check up organised at Bhopal Utsav Mela recently. Moreover, he said that the hospital management has decided that 50 percent rebate will be given on mammography and kidney nuclear medicine test for women who register themselves in the hospital till February 28. Moreover upto 75 percent rebate will be given in other necessary tests.

MoS Sarang distributed prizes to the winners of the poster competition held between various medical and para-medical colleges. Dr. Pandya, Smt. Asha Joshi and Smt. Divya Parashar were present on the occasion.-WTN
