Now Rs 4 Lakhs on Death by Drowning or Boat Mishap

Bhopal: From now onwards financial grant of Rs four lakhs in place of Rs one lakh will be given to a close heir of the deceased in case of deaths due to drowning or boat mishap. The state government has made an amendment in this regard in Block 6 of the Revenue Book Circular.
A grant of Rs four lakhs in place of Rs 50 thousand will be sanctioned in case of death due to snake bite or bite of any poisonous creature and also in case of deaths of passengers travelling by bus or any other public means of transport that falls into a ditch or over a river or hill.
Similarly the annual income limit for loss of shop due to fire or flood has been raised to Rs one lakh. Earlier it was granted to individuals with less than Rs 35 thousand annual income from all resources. Financial assistance has also been hiked from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000.
Financial assistance of up to Rs 25 thousand in place of Rs 6 thousand will be given based on estimation in case of breaking/caving in of wells/tubewells due to natural disaster. Assistance of Rs 10 thousand in place of Rs 4,000 will be provided to farmers on loss of bullock-cart or any other agricultural equipment due to fire or any natural calamity.
