Forests minister Dr Shejwar reviews preparations for Yatra
Bhopal: Forest Minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar said that lifeline river mother Narmada does not originate from any glacier but its origination and flow depends on rain water. Considering this fact, we will do conservation of the Narmada river collectively. Forest minister Dr. Shejwar was addressing a symposium today in Badwani.
Forest Minister informed about efforts being made for mother Narmada's protection through motivating references. Forest minister Dr. Shejwar said that such efforts should be made so that common public, specially women can be associated with this. Information about the works being carried out by district administration and different social organisations was given in the meeting. Collector Badwani Tejasvi S Naik informed that nodal officers have been appointed for arrangements during the yatra. Animal Husbandary Minister Antar Singh Arya, Member of Parliament Subhash Patel, MLA Diwan Singh Patel also addressed the symposium.
Important points related with Yatra
• Fruit-bearing trees will be planted on one km distance from bank of Narmada river.
• Rs 20,000 per acre grant for three years and 40 percent of total expenditure for plantation by farmers on private land.
• Social forestry to plant saplings on forests land.
• Establishment of treatment plants for waste water in cities situated on the banks of the river.
• Narmada Seva Samiti to work for prevention of flow of drain water in villages in Narmada.
• Changing rooms and immersion pit to be constructed on ghats on narmada banks.
• Liquor shops to be closed down from April 1 in radius of five km in area from Narmada banks.
• 'Pattal' and earthen pots to be used during Narmada Seva Yatra. Use of plastic to be banned completely.-WTN
