Yatra reaches village Sarliya, Bedani, Chandel, Piplani and Richhi of Khandwa district

Saint Sudhanshu Maharaj and Pt Kamal Kishore Nagar to participate in Yatra on Monday
Bhopal: In village Chandel of Kandwa district Swami Akhileshwaranand Ji said that water exists on major part of the earth but availability of drinking water is decreasing. That's why river conservation is very necessary. He appreciated Narmada Seva Yatra, the biggest environment protection campaign launched by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for creating awareness in people for river and environment protection. He appealed to villagars that they should make the river conservation campaign of the State government successful by participating in it. He said that when human was illiterate and uncivilised, natural resources were pollution-free and pure. With development of human civilisation, natural resources were exessively exploited and water sources get polluted. To make water-sources pollution-free is needed.
Khandwa MLA Devendra Verma said that Narmada is lifeline of the state. Mother Narmada's contribution in state's economy is important. Major irrigation and power production projects are based on Narmada river.
MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar said in Bedani village that shortage of water is visible because of tree felling in villages on the banks of Narmada. Plantation both the sides of Narmada river and maintaining cleanliness on the banks is required.
Sudhanshu Maharaj & Pt. Nagar to participate in Yatra on Monday
MLA Tomar informed that Saint Sudhanshu Maharaj and Pt. Kamal Kishore Nagar will participate in the Yatra in village Richhphal on Monday and gave the message for river and environment protection to villagers.
In village Sarliya Vice Chairman Cow Progeny Protection Board Santosh Joshi said that the yatra has now become a public movement. He said that Narmada Seva Yatra, started on December 11, will cover 1150 panchayat in its about five months period.
Started from Amarkantak, 144-day Narmada Seva Yatra reached village Sarliya, Bedani, Chandel, Piplani and Richhi village of the district on 56th day on Sunday. District BJP President Harish Kotwale, Saint Krishnadhyananand, mayor Khandwa Subhash Kothari participated in the Yatra. Women of villages welcomed the Yatra by taking the holy 'Kalash' on head. Pujan of girls' feet was performed in all the villages.-WTN
