Prime Minister Housing Scheme to be boon for poor : Shukla

Bhopal: Commerce-Industries, Employment, Mineral Resources Minister Rajendra Shukla said that prime minister housing scheme would be a boon for poor. Shukla was performing bhoomi-pujan for 204 residential houses, five shops and infrastructure works having cost of about Rs 13 crore in Ratahra of Rewa district today.

Shukla said that basic facilities would be availed in the houses. He said that along with providing houses to poor, playground for children and community hall will also be constructed. Adiquate water and electricity will be provided in th houses.

The Industries Minister said that more houses would be constructed for poor under the scheme at different place. Mentioning the scheme, he said that beneficiary would get free land for house construction. Construction cost of one house would be Rs eight lakh and beneficiary would have to pay Rs two lakh. This amount would be in the form of housing loan. The interest on the loan has been waived off by the government. Because of this, beneficiary would have to return lesser amount as monthly installment. Industries minister informed that 2200 houses would be constructed in the first phase. Shukla, on the occasion, provided relief of Rs 5000 to each family from Rs 15000 deposited by them, giving them cheque of the amount.

Mayor Smt Mamta Gupta appealed the beneficiaries to get its benefit. Municipal Corporation chairman Satish Soni and other public representatives were present on the occasion.-WTN
