Newly- Appointed Officials Visit State Museum

Bhopal:The ancient and rare artworks that are on display at the State Museum in Shyamla Hills is a centre of attraction these days for newly appointed administrative officials besides the general public.
At least 115 newly appointed deputy collectors and other officers in the State Administrative Services visited the State Museum recently. They saw prehistoric and fossils, stones excavated from different places, stone and metal statues, royal records, artworks of Nawab period, freedom struggle records, manuscripts, small colour paintings, coins and arms displayed in 17 art galleries in the State Museum.
These officials took special interest in the materials excavated from Besnagar, Mandsaur, Maheshwar, Eran, Pipalyalorka, Dangwada and other places. The statues of Shiva, Uma-Maheshwar, Lakuleesh, Vishnu-Saraswati, Jain Teerthankar from different eras exhibit the talent of the craftsperson. The officials were overwhelmed looking at the costumes of Nawab Shahjehan Begum, the portrait of Begum made of Kasidakari and an old man on display at the Costume gallery. They also showed interest in the photographs of Ramayan, Mahabharat and Krishnaleela in Rajput, Mughal, Malwa, Maratha and Kangda style WTN
