Har-Har Narmade echoed in village Mohana of Khandwa District

Message for water conservation, cleanliness and de-addiction given to villagers  

Bhopal :Local villagers welcomed Yatris in village Mohana on the entry of Narmada Seva Yatra on the eighth day in Khandwa district. Flowers were showered on yatris at different places in the village. On Tuesday, Narmada Seva Yatra reached village Temacha, Harvanshpura, passing through Mohana and after starting from village Kelva Khurd. Participants stayed in village Gol for night. Women in the villages made attractive rangoli outside their houses and villagers were reciting 'Har-Har Narmade' on the routes from where the yatra passed through.

In Jan Samvad programme held in local school premises, MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar said that our area is full with happiness because of blessings of mother Narmada and greenery has spread in farms and sufficient electricity is available in villages and cities. It is our duty not to pollute the Narmada river and make its water worthy to take sip. Girl students presented Gangaur folk dance and dance on 'Narmadasthak' in the programme. Narmada Seva Samiti was formed with farmers' consent and resolution was administered to villagers for making Narmada river pollution-free and plantation on both sides of the river.

MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar said that pollution causes many diseases and causes health problems in people. More and more plantation on Narmada banks will provide clean air. Also, there will be sufficient water in Narmada River due to trees. He said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched Narmada Seva Yatra for making Narmada River pollution-free and create awareness in public on environment protection. He said that all citizens should contribute in the campaign at their level for its success.

Vice chairman of Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Raghvendra Gautam appealed villagers not to do open defecation on the banks of the Narmada and not perform last rites. He asked villagers not to dispose of pujan material in the river. All these works causes pollution in water of Narmada River. He said that the government is providing economic assistance to farmers for plantation on the banks of the Narmada. He said that drive has been started to get constructed toilets in houses in villages situated on the banks of the river so that people do not do open defecation.

Vice-Chairman Gau-Palan evam Pashudhan Sanvardhan Board  Santosh Joshi, Harish Kotwale and thousands of devotees were present during this programme.WTN
