Bhopal : The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today approved a agreement for constituting a joint venture company with the Railway Ministry aimed at connecting far-flung and backward areas with railway network. The Transport Department was authorized for the agreement The company will have 51 per cent participation by the State Government and 49 per cent participation by Railway Ministry. Taking into account the development of state economy, the survey, DPR, financial management and implementation work related to the new rail line will be carried out through this company.

The Cabinet has granted permission for the renewal of running the MP Online Portal through TCS. The time period of the MP Online project was fixed for ten years from its commencement. The portal began from April 2007 and will end on March 31, 2017. The portal is providing 904 government and 51 vocational, total 955 services of 139 department/institutes. Currently, a total of 27 thousand 161 kiosks are working in 16 thousand 290 urban and 10 thousand 871 rural areas.
The Cabinet has approved total Rs 112 crores for construction, equipments, furniture and vehicle and for raising MBBS seats of Gajraraja Medical College, Gwalior from 150 to 250 (hike of 100 seats). Creation and filling of total 588 posts including 122 posts of outsource was also approved.

The Cabinet gave its consent to extend the tenure of the commission constituted for judicial probe into the incident of escape of eight under trial prisoners of Central Jail, Bhopal, by six months from February 7, 2017.

The Cabinet approved sanction of Rs five lakh grant for purchase of books for the Bar Association library at Jaisinghnagar in Shahdol as per the Chief Minister’s announcement. The Cabinet also approved opening of tender on February 8, for setting up of solar plant of 750 MW capacity in the world’s biggest solar power project in Gudh tehsil of Rewa district and to carry out auction on February 9, 2017.WTN
