Governor Kohli told the students to take a resolution that they will undertake ethical works in the life. Not to undertake unethical works at all. They should take decision as per their conscience what is ethical and what is unethical. In the 16th chapter of Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna had very clearly explained to Arjun about divine and demon characteristics. Students should study the 16th chapter and must follow the divine characteristics.

Moreover, Kohli said that universities like Nalanda and Takshila used to attract the entire world in the ancient times. Students from all over the world used to come there for studies. We have to establish the ancient pride of our universities once again and have to stop Indian talent from immigration.

Kohli said that programmes like ‘Make in India ’, ‘Start Up India’ and ‘Stand Up India’ are being conducted by the government for over all development of India . Our universities have to prepare the courses accordingly for over all development of the students.

Furthermore, Chancellor Kohli informed about the ancient convocation traditions of India in the field of education. He said that “Samavartan Sanskar’ used to organise in Gurukuls after completion of graduation which is a ‘Deekshant Samaroh’. On this occasion, the Acharyas (Teachers) used to give final advice to the students for accomplishments in life. Main mantra was “Satya Vad- Dhrama-Char –

Swadhyayanma Pramad: Matra Devo Bhava, Putra Devo Bhava, Acharya Devo Bhava, Atithi Devo Bhava’ meaning Speak Truth, Follow Religion, Never be proud of your knowledge and always give respect to mother, father, teachers and guests. This preaching is always relevant. Students should follow this for sure success.
Governor Kohli said that Ujjain has significant role in education. Lord Shree Krishna had received teachings from Maharishi Sandipani here. Ujjain was one of the prime ancient education centers of India . This land has given scholars of literature, art, culture and other fields to the world. You all are fortunate that you have studied at this land, he added.

Governor Kohli further mentioned that glorified traditions of Vikram University is a matter of pride for all of us. Precious jewels like Dr. Shivmangalsingh Suman, Dr. Vishnu Vakankar, Dr. Bhawatsharan Upadhyaya, Dr. Rammurty Tripathi, Gajanan Muktibodh were linked to this university.

Minister for Higher Education Jaibhan Singh Pawayya in his vigorous address said that students should remember that no one is bigger than mother, motherland and mother tongue. They should study English but should not become slave of English. Social responsibility is must in education. We are providing incomplete citizens to the country, if we are not giving social education to the students. He said that we have changed National Flag of the country after freedom but we have not changed our education and language. We should have a feeling of self respect being an Indian.

Pawayya mentioned that despite any education, we cannot reach the heights in life unless we have self confidence. Giving examples of Aryabhatta and Gandhi Ji, he told the students how they reached the heights in life with self confidence. He further said that career is not the objective of our life but career is a part of the life.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Sheelsindhu Pandey gave welcome address in the beginning of the programme.
