At Last! Beautiful walls on Bhopal’s pavements.

It’s been years since we have seen bills stuck on the walls adjoining the pavements in the city also during elections you could see ‘Vote for xyz’ or similar kind of graffiti painted which normally is unpleasant to the eyes.



Since the concept of Smart City has evolved in Bhopal, we could see various pleasant changes happening around the city. The municipal corporation has outsourced the beautification of these walls to skilled painters who are doing a great job showing off their skills with a blend of tribal, modern and worli paintings. This is indeed a good start for the Swach Bharat mission. It also has given jobs to these skilled painters who were not getting enough work since the flex machines came in and huge prints could be printed at nominal costs. It was a time when every Thursday was a very busy day for a painter as he had to paint the boards of the movie releasing on Fridays, but since the flex prints came in they started losing their jobs and importance. Bhopal Municipal Corporation has indeed taken a good step to keep the skills of these people alive. Please update us on your opinions in the comments section below. - WTN
