Bhopal: The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has issued instructions to all collectors to get accounts of farmers registered for wheat procurement, opened in the District Cooperative Bank. Food Commissioner Faiz Ahmed Kidwai said these instructions have been issued in a letter by the Commissioner Cooperatives to ensure payments to farmers registered for wheat procurement.
The Food Commissioner said that the collectors should instruct the District Cooperative Bank to open the bank accounts of the farmers immediately. This arrangement has been made to facilitate payment to farmers. It is clear from the letter by the Commissioner Cooperatives that it is not mandatory for farmers to open accounts in the District Cooperative Central Bank for e-procurement registration for wheat on support price.-WTN
