CM Chouhan Performs Maa Narmada’s Aarti at Abhay Ghat of Omkareshwar

Administers Pledge to Devotees for Environment and River Conservation
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with his wife performed Maa Narmada’s Aarti at Abhay Ghat of Omkareshwar Thursday evening. Swami Avdheshanand Ji Giri, Minister for Energy and District Minister in charge Paras Jain, Minister for Forest Gourishankar Shejwar, MP and State BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, Sah-Karyavah of R.S.S. Suresh Soni, Pragya Bharti, MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar, Yatra in charge DR. Jitendra Jamdar, Principal Secretary Culture Manoj Shrivastava, Commissioner Culture Rajesh Mishra, Officers, Public Representatives and Devotees in large number were present on the occasion.
CM Chouhan administered pledge to all the devotees present on the occasion for Conservation of Narmada and other Rivers, De-Addiction, Beti Bachao and Environment conservation. Before this CM Chouhan duly performed the abhishek and poojan of Maa Narmada. He also recited Narmadashtak and performed Aarti on the occasion. Chouhan termed the Omkareshwar city as the most sacred and pious religious place where all the three Brahmapuri, Shivpuri and Vishnupuri exist.
Swami Avdheshanand Ji Giri while addressing the devotees present on the occasion said that he has performed penance at the banks of several rivers and has seen several religious cities. But has never witnessed such an amazing scene like today during aarti on Narmada bank. He further mentioned that there is special importance of Narmada darshan in purans. Moreover, he said that Madhya Pradesh is situated in the heart of India. Hence, the good impact of yatra being conducted with the objectives of river conservation, de-addiction and environment conservation will be felt in the entire country.-WTN
