Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a Vedant Sansthan will be established under the guidance of Sants at Omkareshwar to enable general public to have the unique darshan of Adi Shankaracharya. He said that a chapter based on the life and values of Adi Shankaracharya will be added to the school curriculum. A huge statue of Adi Shankaracharya will be established at Omkareshwar for which metal will be collected from every house in the state. Chouhan was addressing a seminar held in memory of Adi Shankaracharya on the arrival of Namami Devi Narmade Seva Yatra at Omkareshwar. It may be noted here that Adi Shankaracharya attained ‘deeksha’ on the banks of Narmada.

Chief Minister Chouhan has said that India owes its cultural unity and integrity to Adi Shankaracharya. He said that a ‘light and sound show’ programme to highlight the importance of Omkareshwar, Narmada and Adi Shankaracharya will be started. Adi Shankaracharya’s caves will be revived under the guidance of the sants.
The Chief Minister said that it is the work of the government to work under the guidance and with the support of the sants. He said that a museum and interpretation centre will also be established. A skyway to connect Vishnupuri, Brahmapuri and Mamleshwar temples will be set up. He said that all facilities will be made available to people at the Mamleshwar temple. The Devsar and Chandramouli temple will also be revived.

The Chief Minister announced to discontinue the tax taken by the Omkareshwar Nagar Panchayat from the pilgrims. He said that the state government will compensate for it.

The Chief Minister said that the seminar organized in memory of Adi Shankaracharya has amazing opportunities as it is a conglomeration of spiritualism and religion. He said that it is due to Adi Shankaracharya’s darshan that Sanatan Dharma exists as a form. Talking about the Narmada Seva Yatra, he said that in Indian tradition, rivers are referred to as ‘Janani’. Rivers do no just have geographical importance; they are a part of spiritual life.

Chouhan said that all beings are considered as ‘Brahma’ in the adwait darshan which is a source of great happiness.

Pramukh Mahamandleshwar of Juna Akhada Swami Avdheshanand Giri said that the darshan of Adi Shankaracharya has assaulted all prevalent evils. He said that the present unrest is only due to ignorance. This darshan unveils the truth of life.
Discussing the resolve of Chief Minister Chouhan to free the Narmada of pollution, Swami Avdheshanand Giri said that even Simhastha was organized without any hindrances due to his resolve. He said that Chief Minister Chouhan was abiding by his ‘rajdharma’ like Raja Vikramaditya, Harshvardhan and Raja Bhoj. He said that a communication link between South and North will be established with the resolve taken by the state government at the Adi Shankaracharya smriti. All sants and sanyasis were with in his support in this work. Narmada Seva Yatra has the support of the entire Sadhu samaj. He said that a spiritual environment reigned in the state which will change the fate of not just the state but the entire country. If the sant community, society and government join hands, a huge movement can begin. The sant samaj welcomes the resolve of the Chief Minister. Swami Avdheshanand gifted the Chief Minister with a ‘rudrash’ garland so that he fulfils his resolve.

He suggested collection of metals from every house to build the huge statue of Adi Shankaracharya so that the message of the darshan reaches every house. The Chief Minister said that the campaign for collection of metals from every house will move along with the Narmada Seva Yatra.

Sar Sahkaryavaha of Rashtrya Swayamsevak Sangh Suresh Soni said that emotional unity always existed in India. He said that words are meaningless without feeling. He said that the adwait darshan should be expressed in life. He said that problems continued to exist due to the fact that evil was not abandoned and goodness was not adopted. Soni said that adwait darshan will resolve all problems. He said that teachers, parents, rulers and saints can together build a spiritual society.

Chief of Chinmay Mission Swami Tejonmayanand said that the Chinmay Mission will extend all possible support to the state government in publicizing the Adi Shankaracharya darshan. Former Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Kutumb Shastri said that the Narmada river is mentioned in Rigveda. He said that the resolve to revive the cave of Adi Shankaracharya was indeed laudable.
Film producer Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi said that the biggest problem was communication gap. Welcoming the addition of chapter on Adi Shankaracharya life darshan in school curriculum, he said this was a first step to familiarize the new generation with vedant darshan. He said that it is the duty of the present generation to familiarize the new generation with the Upanishad heritage.

Sadhvi Rithambhara said that only adwait darshan could save the world. To resolve to save girls, to decorate the earth with greenery and to keep the rivers pure was a work of religious significance. She urged people not to immerse chemical based statues into rivers and not to use material that pollute rivers.
