Ever Lowest Tariff of the Country Received for Rewa Solar Project

Rs. 4100 Crore To be Saved by Receiving Rs. 2.97 Tariff  

 
Bhopal: The lowest ever tariff of the country Rs. 2.97 has been received through tender called for Rewa Solar project. The minimum tariff of the country was Rs. 4.43 earlier. A new record of solar tariff has been set in the state. Minister for Energy Paraschandra Jain and Chairman of Urja Vikas Nigam Vijendra Singh Sisodiya have congratulated Principal Secretary New and Renewable Energy Manu Shrivastava for this achievement.

A total of 20 companies took part in the bidding process of Rewa Solar Project which took place on February 9 and 10. At the end of reverse auction, the minimum tariff of Rs. 2.97 was received in comparison to average minimum tariff of Rs. 3.62. The tariff is 18 percent less than the minimum tariff received in the past, which is a record in the country. After the reverse auction M/s Mahindra Renewables, M/s Acme Solar and M/s Solenergie Power were selected for unit 1, 2 and 3 respectively of 250 megawatt capacities each.

Principal Secretary New and Renewable Energy Manu Shrivastava said that the state will save Rs. 4100 crore due to the low rates of tenders whereas Rs. 100 crore will be saved annually by the Delhi Metro. The Rewa Solar project has established a new milestone by providing electricity to Delhi Metro through open access and will establish itself as a model. Shrivastva further said that no stone will be left unturned to complete the project within time limit and to make the state a leader in the field of Solar energy.-WTN
