CM Chouhan Inaugurates Baiga Olympic at Baihar 
Distribution of Rs. 28 Crore Assistance Amount in Antodaya Mela 

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state government will not leave any stone unturned for the welfare of primitive tribe Baiga. All possible support will be provided for the welfare of Baiga community. If Baiga families wish to adopt family planning on their own, no sterilization operations will be carried out without the permission of the collector. In order to protect Baiga culture and traditions, the Baiga Olympic will be organized at grand level next year. CM Chouhan was inaugurating the three day long Baiga Olympic at Baihar of Balaghat district on the occasion of Sant Ravidas Jayanti.
Also three day agriculture seminar and health camp beside Baiga Olympic was inaugurated by the CM Chouhan. Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Gourishankar Bisen, President Jila Panchayat Smt. Rekha Bisen, MP Bodhsingh Bhagat, MLAs K.D. Deshmukh, Dr. Yogendra Nirmal, Citizens and members of Baiga community in large number were present on the occasion. Teams of Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Umaria, Seoni, Shahdol, Rajnandgaon and 6 members’ Nagaland team participated in Baiga Olympics.

Flag Hoisted to Inaugurate Baiga Olympics
Traditional games of Baiga community will be organised during the three day Baiga Olympic. CM Chouhan by lighting the Olympic torch, performing Badadev pooja and hoisting flag inaugurated the Baiga Olympics. He administered pledge to the Baiga players that they will display their talent in a disciplined way with sportsmanship spirit. Chouhan also inaugurated Baiga youths Tritangi (Three Legs) race and Matka (Pitcher) race of Baiga women.

Praising district administration for organizing Olympic, Chouhan said that this is an amazing conjunction of Baiga culture. A museum will be established on the basis of Baiga culture at Baihar to conserve Baiga’s traditions and to ensure continuous enrichment of Baiga culture. He further mentioned that better education facilities for all the sections of the society have been provided by the state government.
CM Chouhan stated that a direct recruitment of the educated youths of the Baiga community on class 4 posts is being carried out to enable them to lead a happy life. Beside this a loan from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 2 crore will be provided under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udhyami Yojna to make them self dependent.

Landless Persons will be made land Owners
CM Chouhan said that every person living on the soil of Madhya Pradesh will be made owner of land. Every person of the state must have land to reside. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country which is enacting law to provide patta (land deed) to the landless people or by creating plots on government land. A grant of Rs. One lakh 50 thousand is being provided to the poor to construct house in the rural areas.

Announcement for Establishing Hospital at Baihar
CM Chouhan announced to provide Rs. 10 crore to eradicate potable water problem at Baihar and approval to potable water scheme costing Rs. 21 crore 14 lakh for Maljkhand. Moreover, he announced to form Gram Panchayat including village Borikheda and one other village which were earlier included in the Nagar Palika Malajkhand. Chouhan also made announcements regarding construction of Moksh Dham costing Rs. One crore 50 lakh at Malajkhand, to lay astro turf for hockey at Balaghat, approval for creating Additional Collector post at Baihar, to construct two ponds of Siyarpaat, construction of 100 bed hospital at Baihar and introduction of M.Sc. classes in Baihar college from next academic session. He also announced to give Rs. 5 thousand to each dance team participated in the Baiga Olympic.

Unveils Martyr Manish Singh’s Statue
CM Chouhsn unveiled the statue of Martyr Manish Singh who laid his life in naxalite violence at Baihar and assured to provide land to the Martyr’s family.

Also assistance amount worth Rs.28 crore was distributed to the beneficiaries in Antodaya Mela beside Baiga Olympic and Farmers’ convention at Baihar. Chouhan also dedicated and performed bhoomi poojan of various development works.-WTN
