Yatra welcomed in Khargone district on 61st day with plantation in one hectare

MoS for Horticulture and Food Processing Meena receives Yatra 

Bhopal: The 'Namami Devi Narmade' - Seva Yatra that covered 1200 km distance so far was welcomed in Khargone district on its 61st day and plantation was carried out in one hectare land to mark its arrival there. Minister of State for horticulture and Food Processing (independent charge) Suryaprakash Meena received the Yatra. Meena planted saplings of guava, lemon and neem.

After departure from Omkareshwar of Khandwa district, the Yatra reached Alibujurg, passing through Thapna and Motakkamafi. Women and men welcomed the yatra while queuing-up in one km distance on the border of Khargone district.
In Jan-Samvad held in Alibujurg, Minister of State Meena said that the resolution taken during the yatra, cannot be fulfilled without support of the people. He underlined a need to carry out plantation on both sides of the Narmada river in one km distance from the banks. Meena informed that liquor shops won't be allowed to run in five km radius.
Treatment plants will be set up in cities situated on the river's banks. Meena said that drinking water supply and irrigation is made on 35 percent part of Madhya Pradesh through Narmada river water. Power production is being generated through dams constructed on Narmada river. He said that the yatra will culminate on May 11 but efforts would continue to fulfill resolution even after it. Only then, flow in Narmada river will be maintained.

Minister of state Meena said that maintain sacredness of Narmada Kalash. Resolution was administered for plantation on banks of Narmada in all villages, cleanliness, discourage use of chemical fertilisers and pesticide, adopt bio-farming, save girl child and educate them, de-addiction and maintain purity in Narmada river.
MLA Hitendra Singh Solanki said that it is responsibility of all to maintain sacredness of the river. Vice-chairman of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Pradip Pandey informed about objectives of the yatra. Yatra reached Tonksar from Alibujurg. Jan-samvad was held after kanya-pujan in Tonksar. Seers and villagers were present during the programme.-WTN
