District Hospitals of Bhind and Tikamgarh first in State in Kayakalp Abhiyan

Bhopal: District hospitals of Bhind and Tikamgarh have got first place in State in Kayakalp Abhiyan. Results of Kayakalp Abhiyan were announced. District Hospitals of Bhind and Tikamgarh have been selected for jointly for the first prize. Both district hospitals were at the first place with securing 76-76 marks out of 100. Satna and Shivpuri district hospitals were the second with 73-73 marks and Khandwa district hospital was at the third place with 72 marks. District hospitals of Shajapur, Shahdol, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur and Mandsaur have been selected for commendation awards. Elgin Hospital of Jabalpur has been selected for excellent community health centre, besides Ichhavar and Pachor for runner-up and community health centre, Kathiwara for commendation award.
Rs 50 lakh more budget to Tikamgarh district hospital
As part of award, Tikamgarh and Bhind district hospitals will be given Rs 50 lakh additional budget. Hospitals securing first, second and third awards are given Rs 50, Rs 30 and Rs 10 lakh respectively under Kayakalp Award. The cash award is added in budget for the hospitals so that facilities in hospitals can be made better.
Director, National Health Mission, Madhya Pradesh , V Kiran Gopal informed that Union Health Minister will award the selected hospital in Delhi next week and further Chief Minister will award them in Bhopal.
Kayakalp Abhiyan
The central government has introduced Kayakalp Award scheme for hospitals working better in hospital maintenance, availability of health services, OPD, IPD facilities and waste management. The parameters which were fixed by the government for district hospitals and all seven community health centres revival, include paste control, cleanliness in premises and horticulture, better use of open space, hospital maintenance, basic facilities in hospital, maintenance of hospital equipment, medicines, food, clean water availability for patients, management of organic waste and others. Special attention is paid on cleanliness in district hospitals and infrastructure development. Health department officials of other districts conducted inspections of district hospitals on these points and gave marks after monitoring.
Tikamgarh collector Smt Priyanka Das said that this is matter of pride for the district. She said that all related departments and people have given important contribution and because of that, the district secured first award in Kayakalp Abhiyan. She said that modern lights will be installed in operation theatre in district hospital in coming days and remaining facilities will be made better so that patients can get better treatment.-WTN
