334.584 Hectare Land Allotted to D.R.D.O. in Morena District
Bhopal : Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh handed over land allottment letter to Col. D.K. Sharma of Defense Research and Development Organisation (D.R.D.O.) to establish project of national importance in Kailaras and Sabalgarh tahsils of Morena district. Col. Sharma presented a memento of D.R.D.O. to the Chief Secretary on the occasion.
Principal Secretary Revenue Arun Pandey informed that at the initiative of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, decision was taken in the last cabinet meeting in this regard. The 334.584 hectare revenue land worh Rs. 50 crore has been allotted to D.R.D.O. at Rs. One lakh lease rent. Fully furnished Sainik School will be constructed on this land for Gwalior-Chambal division.
Col. D.K. Sharma said that a cost around Rs. 1500 crore is estimated for this project. Finacial provision of Rs. 1200 crore has been made by the D.R.D.O. for this. Local infrastructure development and upgradtion will take place after its establishment. Also indirect employment equal to 15 lakh man days to local citizens is expected from this project.
Approach roads leadding to National and State Highways will be constructed and upgraded by the D.R.DO. Roads and briges beside canals will be constructed. Moreover construction of stop dam on river for water management and works related to electricty lines laying will be carried out. Increase in forest density is one of the importanat aspect of this project. WTN
