Maiden Experiment in the Country

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has successfully conducted maintenance work on high-tension lines in Bhopal for the first time in the country. The Maintenance Unit of the Company changed the faulty disk insulator by marking it with puncture insulator detector on live line.

State government is making all possible efforts to make the state's power sector the topmost in the country. In this series, Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission company has purchased an 'Insulated Aerial Work Platform' from Brazil for maintenance of live high tension lines. This is the country's first imported system in transmission sector in which hot line and bare hand work can be carried out in live lines. Through the platform system, works including changing of insulator string, tightening of jumper cones, vibration dampers and spacers are being carried out on high-tension lines of various capacities in Bhopal region in the last two months. So far 42 maintenance works have been carried out on 132 K.V. lines, 80 works on 220 K.V. lines and 54 works on 400 K.V. lines besides 176 repair and other works have also been carried out.

Appreciating the officials and employees engaged in the maintenance work, Energy Minister Paras Jain congratulated them for having completed the important task successfully.

Trained personnel have been imparted special training in hotline and bare hand work in the country's recognized training centres.-WTN
