Seven Times More Renewable Energy Compared to Year 2012 Installed In MP

Over One Crore LED Bulbs Distributed 

Bhopal: Over one crore LED bulbs have been distributed so far in Madhya Pradesh as a result of the effective implementation of Ujala Yojana. The Ujala Yojana was started on April 30 last year in the state. An average 12 lakh 50 thousand 320 LED bulbs are being distributed every month in the state. This way Madhya Pradesh is in the second position in the entire country.
Tubelights and fans also distributed

With the distribution of one crore LED bulbs, 1825 million units electricity will be saved per year. Besides consumers will have a respite of Rs 1095 crore per year in their electricity bills. Three months back, 20 watt LED tubelights and 5 star ranking fans were distributed in the state. The price of the fan is Rs 1,150 which is half of the market rate. Till now 55 thousand tubelights and 6,500 fans have been distributed. LED bulbs, tubelights and Urja Daksh 5 star rating fans are being supplied through the Post office, Urja Bhavan, Bhopal, district office of Urja Vikas Nigam, Urja Shop, Haat Bazaar, Power Distribution Centre etc.

Last year, new and renewable energy projects worth 1497.33 mw were installed through which the state obtained nearly Rs 10,000 crore investment. This achievement was 2.26 times more in comparison to 661.5 mw installed in 2014-15. In view of the installed capacity during 2015-16, the state tops the list in the country.This year, nearly 24 per cent capacity of the country has been installed in the state. This way the state’s total capacity of renewable energy installed in the state is now 3018.89 m.w. which is seven times more than 438 mw capacity installed in 2012.

State Tops in Wind Energy Projects in the Country

The State is at the top position in the country in installation of wind energy projects. At least 1261.4 mw capacity was installed in the whole year which is the highest installed capacity in a year by any state. Nearly 3200 mw capacity of wind energy projects has been installed in the country in which the state’s participation is 40 per cent.

World’s Biggest Solar Project in Gurh (Rewa)

The world’s biggest 750 mw solar energy project is being implemented in Rewa district on which Rs 4500 crores investment will be made. The energy produced from this project will not only satisfy the needs of the state but will also supply electricity to Delhi Metro.

Global Investors Summit-2016

Investments for five projects of new and renewable energy were obtained in last October’s Global Investor’s Summit held at Indore.The total capacity of these projects is 2700 mw, on which a proposed investment of nearly Rs 16 thousand 200 crores is expected.-WTN
