Children of Labourers to Get Education Facilities Like Public Schools

Four Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Shramoday School Under construction
Bhopal: In order to provide free education facilities like Public Schools to the children of laborers, four Shramoday schools are being started in the state from the next academic session. These schools will provide accommodation facilities with free food, books beside free education to the children. Arrangements towards education, accommodation and sports on the lines of private public schools for 4480 children are being made in Shramoday schools being made in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore and Jabalpur.
The school building premises at Bhopal is being constructed a cost of Rs. 61 crore 59 lakh. Similarly an amount of Rs. 49 crore 96 for Indore school, Rs. 49 crore 84 lakh for Jabalpur and the same amount is being spent for construction of Gwalior school. The 80 percent of the construction work is over and the rest construction work is on the verge of completion soon.
All the Shramoday schools will be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). All the subjects in English and Hindi will be taught to 1120 children of labourers of class 6th to 12th in each school. Written examination will be conducted for admissions in which children of registered laborers can participate. Admissions will be given in class 6th and it is mandatory for a child to pass class 5th examination before admission. Districts coming under Bhopal, Hoshangabad and Sagar divisions will be connected with Shramoday school, Bhopal. Similarly, districts under Indore and Ujjain with Indore Shramoday School, districts under Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol division with Jabalpur School and districts under Gwalior and Chambal division will be connected with Gwalior School. Keeping in view providing better education opportunity with modern facilities to the children of labourers of all the sectors, these schools are being started in four big cities of the state.
Administrative, educational and other arrangements of Shramoday schools will be controlled by Shramoday School Committee. Committee will be registered under the Society Registration Act.
According to Madhya Pradesh Bhavan Evam Sannirman Karmkar Mandal the construction work of schools will be completed in 2017-18. After completing the other arrangements like furniture, hostel, laboratory equipments, educational and administrative staff etc., these schools will start functioning from academic session 2018-19.
This will be the first occasion when children of labourers of the state will get free education in Shramoday schools like public schools with modern facilities.-WTN
