School Education, Sports Departments to Search for Sports Talents

Bhopal:The School Education and Sports Department will now work together to bring out hidden sports talents from primary and middle schools. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia gave this information at a meeting.

Sports Minister Smt. Scindia said that initially an attempt is being made to organise talent search in all schools in the academic session and prepare a data bank. On this basis, talented players will be included and trained in academies run by the Sports Department for international competitions. For this purpose High School P.T.I will impart training to primary and middle school children.

Smt. Scindia said that the District Sports Officer will be made a member of the District Level Selection Committee constituted for the State Level School Sports Competition. This will ensure transparency in the selection of talented players from district level schools.

Among those present at the meeting were Commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra Smt. Deepti Gaud Mukherji, Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Sachin Sinha and Director Sports and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain.-WTN
