Bhopal: Environment, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cottage and Rural Industries Minister, Antar Singh Arya has appreciated a newspaper Navdunia's initiative 'Aao Jalayen Kando Ki Holi'. In a letter sent to the newspaper, Arya said that entire world is fighting with global warming like environment challenges. In this regard, we all have responsibility to make meaningful efforts for protecting the earth for next generation. I welcome and endorse such step taken by anybody.
Arya said that considering the responsibility for next generation, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has started Narmada Seva Yatra. The Yatra got support from all classes.
Arya said that 'Holika Dahan' is the old tradition in Indian culture. the population was less earlier and forests were dense. People in the society had started 'Holika Dahan' by collecting dried woods. Environmental challenges were not there at that time. Today, number of trees has decreased; population has gone up. Tree felling for 'Holika Dahan', will increase further crisis for the environment. 'Kando (cowdung cake) Ki Holi' is a meaningful initiative to save from this crisis.
Gau-Shalas will get additional earning from 'Kando Ki Holi'. Environment will get cleaned and it would conserve cow progeny also.-WTN
