Develop Narmada Seva Samiti as Sanskar Kendra

Every Person, Village Should Contribute In Yatra 
Chief Minister Calls Upon People’s Representatives of Sehore District 

 
Bhopal :Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Narmada Seva Samiti should inculcate Sanskars in people. He called upon people to extend their support in the construction of a society resolved towards drug-deaddiction, educated, save daughters campaign, cleansing and purifying Ma Narmada water, planting trees and conservation of water. Chouhan was talking to Sehore district’s people’s representatives today at his residence while forming outline of public participation programmes for Narmada Seva Yatra during its visit to Sehore district.
Referring to his experiences during the Narmada Seva Yatra,

Chief Minister Chouhan told about the amazing support extended by the local people to the yatra. He asked the people’s representatives of Sehore district that they should present the best example of public movement during the Sehore visit. Every panchayat, village and person should contribute towards the yatra. Community participation is must be it as a cultural programme or games. He said that everyone should connect with the seva samitis without any financial, social, religious and political discrimination. All should be invited for the yatra with due respect. He informed that he would stay for a night with the Yatra during its nine-day visit to Sehore.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Narmada Seva Yatra was a unique attempt of river conservation in the world. There has been no other river anywhere in the world for the conservation of which such a vast population has come forward to participate in its conservation. People are emotionally connecting to the Yatra. They are coming forward in the service of Ma Narmada with full devotion. Common man, farmers, Sadhus, all are expressing their complete faith and dedication towards Ma Narmada. Farmers are filling the Sankalpa Patra to plant trees. Huge community lunches (bhandara) are being organised with people’s cooperation. Even Sadhus have started talking about changing pujan methods.

He said that Ma Narmada is the lifeline of the state. Thirty percent of the state’s population will get drinking water and 50 per cent will be able to avail irrigation facilities from Ma Narmada, hence it is important to raise the flow of Narmada water. Government is actively assisting the people in their efforts. Works related to the river conservation have been fixed after discussion with subject experts. The government is also supporting tree plantation. To ensure cleanliness of the water, changing rooms, visarjan kund, are being constructed in the ghats. Now the Narmada water will remain free of excreta and the dirty water of the cities will now be channeled out of the city through pipes. Treatment plants will be installed which will purify this water and use it for irrigating fields.

District in Charge, Public Works Minister Rampal Singh said that the message of ‘Har Har Narmade, Ghar Ghar Narmade’ should be publicized everywhere. Samitis and panchayats will be awarded for their outstanding contribution during the Yatra. The information about the programmes to be held through public participation, during the Narmada Seva Yatra’s visit to Sehore from March 19 to March 28 was given by MARKFED Chairman Ramakant Bhargav and BJP district president Raghunath Bhati. The programme was also addressed by Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Shiv Choubey. The Collector gave information about the administrative arrangements during the Yatra.
