Bhopal: Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that housing construction fund has been released to the accounts of three lakh poor people for housing and fund for six lakh more houses will be released in the next six months. Mr. Chouhan was addressing Rahas Mahotsav-2017 and Aajivika District-level Mahila Sammelan at Gadhakota in Sagar district today.
Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that the government would take all possible steps to empower women and make them self-reliant. In order to give a thrust to the Women’s Self-Help Groups, the state government will give it the form of a movement. It will make loan assistance available to them on low interest rates through banks and women will be empowered through the SHGs. He said that the group members must have some or the other works so that they are always employed When women acquire money they will become self-reliant in the true sense of the word and they will be able to move forward. He said that the Government of India has launched the Mudra Bank Yojana under which loans will be made available. He urged girls to take the benefits of the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Yojana. He said that the government would take the guarantee of bank loans.
Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that no poor talented student would ever be deprived of higher education due to paucity of money. He said that government has made provision in the budget for poor talented students’ education in the fields of engineering, medical, IIT, IIM etc. He told the women to allow their sons and daughters to get educated.
The Chief Minister said that every landless person would be given permanent pattas for houses. Land is being arranged for housing for every poor person. He said that it is our aim to ensure that no poor will remain shelterless, through the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme and Gramin Aawas Mission. The Chief Minister asked the women present whether the housing fund should be deposited in the panchayat account or directly to the account of the poor to which the women replied that the fund should be deposited to the beneficiary’s account. He said that those guilty of raping minors should be hanged to death; a proposal with this provision will be forwarded to the Government of India.
The Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that liquor shops would not be opened in villages on the banks of the Narmada from next financial year. He said that government was working in the direction of drug-deaddiction. He called upon all to extend their support in this. Mr. Chouhan administered the oath for deaddiction. The Chief Minister said that the entire state would be de-addicted slowly. This would be made possible only when deaddiction camps would be organized in every village. Everyone should make joint efforts in this campaign.
The Chief Minister said that half of the seats in Nagar Palika, Nagar Nigam and panchayats have been reserved for women. Now 56 percent women are participating in the development at these bodies. He said that with the exception of forest department, women would be given 33 per cent reservation in other departments. Government will take every possible step for women empowerment.
The Chief Minister said that 78 thousand 173 families in Sagar district have connected with self- help groups. He said that the self-help groups should be active and not be confined to paper. Mentioning the self-help groups of Hoshangabad and Betul districts, he said that the annual turnover of groups in these two districts alone is Rs 300 crores whereas the total turnover of all other districts in the state is Rs 600 crore.
The Chief Minister dedicated the Udyaniki Vyavasayik Shikshan Sansthan Gadhakota and Boys Hostel building.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargav said that the Aajivika Yojana has been launched in the state. Madhya Pradesh government was working constantly in the direction of making women self-reliant. Mentioning the empowerment of Facebook India women, he said that the government was aware and was constantly working for the development of women. Mr. Bhargav urged the women to stop alcoholism in their families.
