Yatra Accorded Grand Welcome in Dewas District

Bhopal: Narmada Seva Yatra was accorded welcome enthusiastically on reaching Dewas district. Yatra was welcomed with devotions by citizens in large number on its 87th day on entering village Kanad of Dewas district situated at the border of Khargone district. Yatra Incharge Mr. Pradeep Pandey, Chairman Text Book Corporation and District Incharge of Yatra Mr. Raisingh Sendhav, President Jila Panchayat Mr. Narendra Singh Rajput, President Janpad Bagli Smt. Nirmala Kanthali, Mr. Rajesh Yadav, Collector and SP beside Public Representatives and villagers in large number took part in the yatra.

Smt. Awasthi Held Kalash

Smt. Kiran Awasthi wife of Collector Mr. Anshuman Awasthi held kalash on her head on entry of yatra in the district. Collector welcomed the yatra holding yatra’s flag. MLA Mr. Champalal Devda administered pledge to the people regarding Narmada conservation and protection of nature.

Yatra entered village Kanad with Enthusiasm

Yatra entered village Kanad of Khandwa district. An atmosphere of enthusiasm was prevailing in the village during the entry of yatra. Villagers performed a traditional tribal dance. Women holding kalashs on their heads participated and welcomed yatra singing songs. Guests carried out plantation of Pipal, Neem, bargad and other saplings at the shore of Kanad river.

People emerged in Large Number in Udaynagar
People emerged in large number when yatra reached Udaynagar. Villagers showered flowers on Narmada flag and Kalsh. Pooja was performed at Bazar Chowk with traditional rituals. Meal was served and saplings of Tulsi were gifted to all participated in seva yatra.

Welcome Accorded by Christian Community

Pooja of Narmada kalash was performed by Sister Lincy of Rani Maria Girls High School besides Sister Pushpa Maria, Sister Filcy, Sister Dina, Sister Alfona, Father Sanjay Grewal, Father Siamond, school’s teachers and students when yatra entered Udaynagar. Kalash aarti was performed and yatra was welcomed showering flowers at various places.

Rangolis Made by Girls

Attractive rangolis were prepared by Palak Rathore of class 7 and Nisha Nagar of class 4 in village Bisali to welcome yatra on entering district. They said that they are very happy to see yatra in their area.

Tableau of Maa Narmada in Pandu Talaab

An attractive tableau of Maa Narmada was prepared in village Pandu Talaab. Vilagres welcomed yatra holding palash flowers. Students holding placard related to slogans on Narmada conservation were standing to welcome yatra.

Houses Decorated in Village

Houses in village were traditionally decorated during the yatra. Designs were made by plastering houses with yellow soil and cow dung. Also road were decorated with leaves.

Yatra moves ahead after covering Pandu Talaab, Bisali, Uday nagar and other villages after its entry in village Kanad.-WTN
