Bhopal: Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Women Protection Centers at Janpad level will be established. These centers will run by the state government with cooperation of NGOs. Land pattas will be given in women' names in future. He further mentioned that smart phones will be provided to the girls under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojna. Mr. Chouhan was addressing the 15th Annual Conference of Narmada Mahila Sangh at Betul today. He announced to link all the groups of the sangh with National Livelihood Scheme and to give assistance of Rs. 40 crore for a period of 3 years.
CM Mr. Chouhan mentioned that a bill for provision of capital punishment to culprits involved in heinous crimes with women will be presented in the assembly shortly. After getting the bill passed, it will be sent to the Union Government. He said that women will be made owner of movable and immovable property and efforts will be made to issue land pattas in the name of women. Mr. Chouhan informed that the state government has made arrangements for medical treatment of women suffering from serious diseases. Medical treatment upto Rs. 2 lakh for normal diseases will be carried out from the State Diseases Assistance Fund.
Referring to the welfare schemes of the state government, Mr. Chouhan said that fee of students of poor families who secure 85 percent marks in 12th board examination will be borne by the state government provided they got selected in P.M.T., P.E.T., Law, Nursing and Polytechnic. He further informed that an amount of Rs. One lakh 20 thousand for construction of house under Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna and Rs. 12 thousand for construction of toilet will be given to the beneficiary.
Beside this, sum from MNREGA will be given if beneficiary does labour on its own.
CM Mr. Chouhan told the Narmada Mahila Sangh to participate in group marriage scheme and for conducting a campaign to make villages addiction free. He said that a decision to close all the liquor shops in the radius of 5 k.m. of Narmada River has been taken. He appreciated the efforts of the sangh for forming 872 groups in 255 villages besides linking 11 thousand 836 families with the groups. Mr. Chouhan lauded that sangh has conducted an effective campaign against the domestic violence. He informed that 4 thousand 500 women of Hoshangabad and Betul are linked to mulberry and silk works and they have formed a Satpura Silk Production Ltd. Company. Moreover, women have carried out an exemplary work beginning craft work independently. Mr. Chouhan issued directives on the occasion to hold women' public hearing every month in Betul.
