Bhopal: Minister of State for Technical Education Mr. Deepak Joshi said that Narmada Seva Yatra has transformed into a People’s Movement. Aahuti of every individual is must in Narmada Swachchata Yagya. He mentioned that yatra is getting immense public support. Mr. Joshi was addressing the Jan-Sanvad programme held on 89th day at Loharda-Kannod block of Dewas district today. Citizens in large number were present on the occasion.
Mr. Joshi mentioned that Narmada River is a lifeline of the state. Future generation would have faced problems which is impossible to imagine, if we do not conduct the campaign today. He further mentioned that Maa Narmada has special blessings on Malvanchal. Several areas of the state are being illuminated from the electricity produced from Narmada River in this region. Narmada water is satisfying thirst of citizens of big cities like Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur. He also administered pledge to the people to keep Narmada River clean and pure.

Vice President Jan-Abhiyan Parishad Mr. Pardeep Pandey said that Narmada Seva Yatra has been lauded in 171 countries. He mentioned that the Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan is emerged as a leader of social change in the entire country. Mr. Pandey stated that farmers will become economically strong undertaking fruit plantation in one k.m. radius of Narmada river. This yatra will prove effective to make the state addiction free. Environmentalist Mr. Sunil Chaturvedi said that river’s dwindling is like a bell of danger for human civilization.
He further mentioned that river conservation is not only the work of state government. Work to save rivers can be carried out with everyone’s participation. MLA Mr. Champalal Devada also addressed the Jan-Sanvad programme.
Example of Harmony
Yatris were welcomed with flowers showering by representatives of Anjuman Committee and Madina Masjid Committee when yatra reached its destination Kantaphod. Beside this, members of Sikh community also took part in yatra with enthusiasm. Representatives of Muslim community said that all the sections of the society are nourished and flourished by Narmada river without any discrimination. Therefore, all the sections are responsible for conservation of Narmada river.
Grand Welcome Accorded to Yatra
Narmada Seva Yatra proceeded from Pipri on Thursday morning. Yatra reached Loharda covering Kishangarh, Ratatalai, Bhikupura, Punjapura, Palasi, Borkhalya, Gadiya and Singodi, Godna, Kanda, Kantaphod of Kannod block. Yatra was accorded grand welcome at all the villages. Women holding kalashs welcomed yatra from place to place. Houses of all the villages on the way of yatra were decorated with rangolis.-WTN
