Rewa will be made Shanty Free City

Bhopal: Minister for Commerce-Industries and Mineral Resources Shri Rajendra Shukl performed bhoomi poojan of 132 E.W.S. , 144 M.I.G., 9 shops and infrastructure development works costing Rs. 2462 lakh near Lalpa Talaab under the Awas Sabke Liye Yojana a urban component of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana at Rewa.

Minister Shukl said that as per the intention of the state government affordable houses are being provided to the poor beside free medical treatment, insurance facility and availability of food grains at reasonable rates. Construction of 16 thousand 500 houses is proposed in the urban area in the next 4 years. Fully equipped houses at reasonable prices will be made available for houseless persons and poor residing in shanties.

Shukl further said that a house worth Rs. 7 lakh 25 thousand is being provided to poor in just Rs. 2 lakh. Small margin money of Rs. 20 thousand will have to be deposited by the beneficiary. Remaining one lakh 80 thousand will be provided to the beneficiary through bank finance on easy monthly installments. The state government will provide subsidy of about Rs. 5 lakh. He mentioned that a fully equipped model colony will be developed at this place. All the arrangements like water, electricity, roads, community hall and park etc. will be made in this colony. It is an effort to make Rewa a shanty free city.
