Monitoring to Start Discontinued Tap Water Scheme

Smt. Kusum Mehdele in P.H.E. Department’s Advisory Committee Meeting
Bhopal: Minister for Public Health Engineering Smt. Kusum Mehdele said that monitoring is being made on works carried out through payment released to the Gram Panchayats to start discontinued tap water schemes. She was addressing the Advisory Committee meeting of the department today. Members of the Committee MLAs Ramesh Dubey, Pannalal Shakya and Smt. Neelam Abhay Mishra were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that an amount has been paid to each gram panchayat, which has less than Rs. 2 lakh repair work of discontinued tap water schemes. Work to repair the broken platforms of hand pumps are being carried out. There are 15 thousand 270 tap water supply schemes in the state, out of this 11 thousand 796 schemes are under working condition. Out of one lakh 28 thousand 67 settlements, potable water in ratio of 55 litre per person per day is being provided in one lakh 5 thousand 852 settlements.
Members also gave suggestions on the occasion. Principal Secretary P.H.E. Manoj Govil and Engineer-in- Chief G.S. Damore were present in the meeting.-WTN
