Plant trees besides saving forest produce and greenery
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on World Forestry Day has appealed people of the state to resolve to not only save greenery and forest produce but also plant maximum trees and protect them on World Forestry Day.
In his message, Chouhan said that several activities of forest management and development based on people’s participation are being undertaken in the state. Continuous efforts are on to fill the increasing gap between demand and supply of forest produce. Hariyali Mahotsav is being organized and trees are being planted on private land. Forest promotion works of Madhya Pradesh are being lauded on national and international level.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the main objective of Forestry Day is to generate awareness among people towards tree plantation and protection of trees. According to our traditional science, even plants and trees have feelings. A worldwide campaign is going on for public awareness towards environment protection. The banks of the river Narmada are being developed by planting trees under the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ – Seva Yatra Campaign.-WTN
