Arrangements should be made for prevention and treatment of rain-borne diseases
Special care and precautions should be taken due to Covid
Bhopal 26 June 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that necessary arrangements to deal with excessive rainfall and floods must be ensured promptly in every district of the state. Meetings of disaster management committees should be organized and district-wise concrete disaster management must be planned. All arrangements for prevention and treatment of water borne diseases should be made. There is need for special care and precautions due to Covid crisis in the present times.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that all protective measures should be taken after identifying disaster prone areas in the districts. Reinforcement of large dams in the district must be ensured. Reservoirs and sewage drains located in flood prone areas, inspection of ponds, drains, dams should be ensured to strengthen the drainage system.
Arrangement of necessary materials and equipments such as motor boats, life jackets, ropes etc. should be made for protection from floods. Arrangements of divers must be made. Training of search and rescue teams must be completed.
Flood Disaster Control Room should be set up in every district, which should work for 24 hours and have complete information related to flood prevention and relief. On receiving a call for assistance, a team should be dispatched immediately.
Places to set up relief camps should be identified in flood prone areas and complete flood relief arrangements should be ensured there. Quarantine camps in flood prone areas must be shifted to safer places. While setting up relief camps in such areas, all necessary precautions should be taken in terms of physical distancing in view of Covid-19.
All arrangements should be made for treatment and prevention from water borne diseases like cholera, malaria, diarrhoea, dengue etc. Focus should be laid on creating a clean and infection-free environment – Window to news
