Government Nod to Rs 13,500 Crore Free Govt. Guarantee for Wheat Purchase to Civil Supplies Corporation

Bhopal: The proposal of continuing free government guarantee of Rs 13,500 crore to Civil Supplies Corporation has been approved by the government. The approval shows the resolve of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to work for the welfare of farmers and the poor. The Civil Supplies Corporation had proposed to continue the free government guarantee of Rs 13,500 crores to the state government for obtaining loans from the banks keeping in mind Rabi purchase in the ongoing year. For this, the government had given its approval.

The State government’s decision to continue free government guarantee will ease the running of schemes for farmers and financially weak sections and distribution of foodgrains. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Omprakash Dhurve and Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Dr. Hitesh Bajpayi, Vice-Chairman Devraj Singh Parihar made special efforts to get the Corporation’s proposal approved. Civil Supplies Corporation Managing Director Faiz Ahmed Kidwai gave information about the approval of free government guarantee of Rs 13,500 crores for wheat purchase.-WTN
