Demand of Kabira brand Khadi cloths increased

Advisory Committee meeting held under chairmanship of Minister for cottage and rural industries Arya  

Bhopal: Demand and popularity of 'Kabira' brand Khadi is on the rise in the state. Members of advisory commmittee asked Khadi and Rural Industries Board to increase production to meet out the demand in the meeting chaired by Cottage and Rural Industries Minister Antar Singh Arya. MLAs Smt Rekha Yadav, Sandip Jaiswal, Principal Secretary Smt Veera Rana, Commissioner Handloom Smt GV Rashmi, Commissioner Khadi and Gramodhyog Smt Renu Tiwari, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Silk Federation Anil Shrivastava and Executive Officer of Mati Kala Board Chandramohan Sharma were present.

 The committee requested the minister to write a letter to district collectors for imparting training to self help groups in villages for manufacturing of papad, pickle and other cottage industries and to arrange loan and marketing facility. The Committee said that publicity through banners should be made in villages regarding government schemes about cottage industries.

 It was informed that production of tussar silk and malbari is being expanded in Jabalpur, Rewa, all districts of Shahdol division, Sagar and Tikamgarh. MLA Jaiswal said that khadi sale shops should be made attractive like modernised show rooms.-WTN
