Godown cum Grading Plants for Seeds to be Established in 20 Districts

MoS Sarang Presides Over Seeds Federation’s Board of Directors Meeting 

Bhopal: Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang said that Godown cum Grading Plants will be established in 20 districts of the state. Seeds grading facility will be provided to 20 societies through these plants. Sarang was addressing the Board of Directors’ meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Seeds Producers and Marketing Federation. Principal Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Cooperatives Kavindra Kiyawat and Managing Director Seeds Federation S.N. Kori were present in the meeting.

Sarang mentioned that construction work of godowns in 6 districts namely Khargone, Khandwa, Balaghat, Vidisha, Tikamgarh and Mandsaur has been completed. He told the officials to review 2523 seeds producers societies and to make them members of the federation.

It was informed that seeds production target of 14 lakh 57 thousand quintals has been set under the seeds production programme in the year 2017-18, which is 64.51 percent more than the previous years. Seeds of such member societies of seeds federation whose information on availability of seeds produced have been uploaded season wise on federation’s portal will be given priority in the government schemes of agriculture department and distribution in primary credit cooperative societies.-WTN
