Narmada gave us everything, we should take resolution to make it pollution-free

CM Chouhan called upon villagers in Jahajpura of Sehore
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that mother Narmada has given us everything. Greenery has spread in field thanks to blessing of mother Narmada and agriculture production has gone up in the state. More than half of area in the state is getting drinking water from Narmada. That's why it is responsibility of all of us to keep Narmada river pollution-free and keep its stream uninterrupted. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing Jan Samvad in Jahajpura village of Budhni block of Sehore district today.
CM Chouhan participated in Narmada Seva Yatra before Jan Samvad programme. He offered garland to portrait of mother Narmada. The Chief Minister and his wife Smt Sadhna Singh performed pujan of feet of girls present there. School children presented dance on Narmadashtak. The Chief Minister announced to give Rs 25000 cash award on attractive dance.
CM Chouhan said that the aim of Yatra is to make people aware of conservation of the biggest river of Madhya Pradesh, Narmada. He said that Narmada Yatra has now become a major public movement. Chouhan said that Narmada Yatra is being discussed in many countries of the world. He said that waste and sewage water of towns and cities on the banks of Narmda will not be allowed to merge into Narmada river. He said that sewage water will be given to farmers for irrigation after treatment. Eighteen cities have been selected for setting up sewage treatment plants. Rs 1500 crore have been proposed for this task.
Shivanand Maharaj, who arrived from Haridwar, said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has started the campaign to make Narmada pollution-free and it is appreciating. He urged villagers to make the campaign successful.
Sadhvi Smt. Pragya Bharati said that we worship mother Narmada and recite 'Narmadashthak' but we are also polluting it. Now there is a need to get united and make mother Narmada pollution-free. She underlined need of plantation on banks and its surrounding areas. Swami Vishweshwaranand Maharaj appealed villagers not to use pollution in Narmada. Public Works Minister and Sehore district in-charge Rampal Singh, Chairman of Forests Development Corporation Guru Prasad Sharma, Chairman of Mineral Development Corporation Shiv Chobey, Mithla Bihari Maharaj of Haridwar, local public representatives and seva yatri in large number were present there.-WTN
