Rs 7000 to be spent in three years on Sub Transmission and Distribution Works

Bhopal: In the coming three years, Rs 1500 crores would be spent on works to strengthen sub-transmission and power distribution system in urban areas and Rs 2865 crores would be spent on developing rural infrastructure of Madhya Pradesh. Works worth Rs 1500 crores is in progress on feeder separation in state.
Power is being supplied 24x7 to cottage industries and large industries besides the population of the state. Ten-hour supply is being provided in agriculture sector. Taking the increasing power load in the coming years into account, the Integrated Power Development Scheme has been introduced for system strengthening, meter installation and other works. Nearly Rs 1500 crores would be spent for 309 cities of the state in the scheme.
Similarly, works worth Rs 2865 crores are being undertaken in 50 yojanas under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana to strengthen and develop power infrastructure in rural areas. Total around Rs 7000 crore would be invested in the power sub transmission and distribution sector in the next three years including the feeder separation scheme.
These works will benefit the state with better quality power supply besides development of infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for power.-WTN
