CM Chouhan interacts with MNREGA labourers through VC
Bhopal 18 August 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that 7 lakh 81 thousand works have been opened in the state under MNREGA scheme this year, which is three times more compared to last year. So far 79 lakh 80 thousand workers have been provided employment in these works. Last year, 47 lakh 75 thousand labourers were given work under MNREGA. This year, while a large number of labourers have been employed, the work being done is useful and of good quality. The Fossil Park in Suliburdi village of Dhar district, Bawdi renovation in Raipura of Sheopur district, gaushala construction at Banheri in Gwalior district and canal deepening work in Balaghat district are unique and amazing works being undertaken under MNREGA .
Chief Minister Chouhan was interacting with MNREGA labourers of different districts of the state at their work place through video conferencing from Mantralaya today. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ram Khilavan Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and ACS Manoj Shrivastava and other officers were present at the video conference.
I will personally come for Gou-Shala inauguration
Ajab Singh and Hari Rawat of Banheri village of Gwalior district informed the Chief Minister Chouhan that they are engaged in the construction of Gou-Shala in their village. They have also received wages on time. This Gou-Shala being constructed under MNREGA will accommodate 1500 bovine. The Mandir Sarovar is also being constructed along with the cowshed. Praising the work, Chief Minister Chouhan said that he would personally visit Banheri for the inauguration of the Gou-Shala.
Nakshatra Vatika constructed under MNREGA
Kanti Devi of Kanhabari village of Betul district told the Chief Minister that Nakshatra Vatika has been constructed in the village under the MNREGA in which saplings of 27 Nakshatras, 12 zodiac signs and 9 planets have been planted. Acupressure track and path-way have also been constructed in the Vatika. Masonary work in the vatika has been done by women. Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated everyone including Kanti Devi for the work.

Ramcharan, a migrant labourer who returned from Kasaraghat Kalyan Maharashtra, said that he returned to his village Roshia in Khandwa district, during the lockdown. Soon after his return, he and his wife Bindu Bai got their job cards made. Now both of them are doing contour trenching work under MNREGA. They want to continue working in their village itself. Chief Minister Chouhan assured that they will continue to get work in future also.
We got work, wages, ration and masks too
Raju Jatav of Dhanela village in Morena district told the Chief Minister Chouhan that he has got work in MNREGA, he has been getting wages on time, has got free ration and also got mask. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government has also made arrangements for free education, so they must educate their children.
Deepening work of 317 irrigation canals
Sumit Khare of Pala village in Balaghat district told Chief Minister Chouhan that he is engaged in the work of deepening canal under MNREGA. Earlier he used to work as a mason in Nagpur. ACS Manoj Shrivastava informed that 317 irrigation canals have been deepened under MNREGA in Balaghat district. Chief Minister Chouhan lauded the works.
Will definitely come to see “Fossil Park”
Ansingh Gangaram of Suliburdi village in Dhar district said that he is working as a labourer in a “Fossil Park” developed in the village under MNREGA. ACS Manoj Shrivastava informed that a large number of fossils are available in the area, which have been collected in this park. There are other rare fossils here, including dinosaur eggs. Chief Minister Chouhan said that this is a wonderful work. I will definitely come to see it. He congratulated all those concerned for the work.
900-year-old Bawdi renovated
MNREGA labourers Babulal Baikha and Harish Sharma of Raipura village of Sheopur told the Chief Minister that they are engage in the renovation of a 900-year-old Bawdi of the Gaud dynasty period. The Bawdi is very beautiful and big. Manoj Shrivastava informed that renovation and beautification work of 9 such Bawdis is being done in Sheopur district. Chief Minister Chouhan said that these works done under the MNREGA are very important.
Important facts related to MNREGA works in the state

Labour budget of Rs 20.50 crore man days in the state in 2020-21. Apart from this, additional provision of Rs 40 thousand crore under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
· So far 7 lakh 81 thousand works have been started in the state.
· Out of these, one lakh 52 thousand works are in progress.
· Employment of twice the number of workers than last year.
· A maximum of 25 lakh 30 workers employed in a day, which is a record in itself.
· So far 79 lakh 80 thousand labourers have been provided employment opportunities under MNREGA.
· Priority to water conservation and water utilisation.
· Four thousand Gau-shalas and 5 acres of land are being developed for grazing.
· Planning of works with a view to employ maximum number of workers during monsoon also.
· New job cards were made available to 14.90 workers, the highest in the last 12 years.
· Employment information and assistance centres established in each district and block level.
· Provision of two free masks to each worker.
· 13.82 crore man days generated so far in this financial year.
