Rs 200 Crores for Chief Minister Urban Drinking Water
Bhopal: Now much attention is being paid to the urban development sector in Madhya Pradesh compared to 13 years back. There is a 14 time-hike in the budget provision for urban units for the year 2017-18 compared to Rs 807 crores in financial year 2003. This year the budget provision is nearly Rs 11 thousand 128 crores.
The Department of Urban Development is making basic facilities for infrastructure development to citizens in urban areas in the last few years as a consequence of which there has been a continuous rise in the annual budget.
The target is to provide 135 L.P.D water to citizens in all cities of the state from various sources and in the next three years pure drinking water will be made available to all 379 cities. Provision of Rs 200 crore has been made in the budget for 2017-18 under the Chief Minister’s Urban Drinking Water Programme. Rs 6200 crores have been approved for drinking water projects in nearly 200 urban units.-WTN
