Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that a de-addiction campaign will be launched in state. In its first phase, liquor shops within 5 km radius of both the banks of the river Narmada will be closed down from April 1. He said that if the rivers are protected, human culture and civilization will be protected. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing Jan-Samvad at Jait village on completion of the 100th day of Narmada Seva Yatra. Rashtra Sant Murari Bapu and Sant Kamal Kishore Nagar were specifically present during the programme.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that lakhs of people will plant crores of saplings on the banks of the river Narmada on coming July 2 from Amarkantak to Badwani. Narmada is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh and it is the base of prosperity of Madhya Pradesh. It provides drinking water to dozens of cities in the state. Madhya Pradesh has received the Krishi Karman Award four times due to its blessings. Narmada Seva Yatra is a Yatra to save Narmada and to repay for its services. He said that treatment plants would be set up on the cities on the banks of the Narmada. He urged the people to resolve to plant saplings on the banks of Narmada, to construct toilets in every house of the villages on the banks, to immerse pujan material in the pujan kund and get changing room and Muktidham constructed on the banks of Narmada.
The Chief Minister said that a law would be made to punish rapists by hanging. He said we must save daughters and send every child to school. He said that a Narmada Fund would be established for the Narmada. Sant Murari Bapu would be the first one to contribute Rs 11,000 in it. Sant Kamal Kishore Nagar made an announcement to provide Rs. One crore one lakh for restoration of Narmada ghats of Omkareshwar.




CM Chouhan Welcomes Yatra in his Home Village Jait
Villagers with enthusiasm and devotion beating drums and women holding kalashs on their heads welcomed the yatris. Children, elders, women beside people of all the sections of the society took part in the yatra. Atmosphere reverberated with the sound of ‘Har-Har Narmade’ during the yatra. Also people came in the form of upyatra from various districts joined the main yatra in village Jait.
Later on, Maa Narmada’s grand Maha-Aarti was performed. Famous singers Anuradha Podwal and Kailash Kher gave mesmerizing presentations on the occasion.-WTN
