CM Chouhan inspects flood affected areas of Shahganj
Visits rescue centre and distributes food items
Bhopal 02 September 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that we will provide every possible help at all cost to the flood and rains affected families in order to help them in coming out of this crisis. Chief Minister Chouhan was interacting with flood affected people of Somalwara, Bamori, Dehri and Nanbhet area of Shahganj of Sehore district today. He mentioned that along with RBC 6(4), the farmers will also be helped under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance scheme. Apart from wheat, 5 litre kerosene will also be provided to the affected families. Chief Minister Chouhan reached rescue centers set up in Shahganj and distributed food items. The Member of Parliament from Vidisha, Ramakant Bhargava, public representatives and officials were present on this occasion.
Chief Minister Chouhan told the villagers that they need not worry. Government is with them and his priority during the flood catastrophe was to save people’s lives. I myself monitored the relief and rescue works the whole night without sleep. Chief Minister Chouhan said that he talked to the Prime Minister, Defence Minister as well as Army and got the people evacuated to safer places by airlifting them by helicopter from flood affected areas. He further stated that he has information about all the areas and has instructed the administration to provide help in all the areas by conducting survey immediately. Chief Minister Chouhan said that whether the flood caused by Narmada river or any other river or runnels, the damage caused to paddy and other crops will be compensated. People, whose houses are damaged will also be given every possible relief.
Chief Minister Chouhan directed the Collector to give half quintal wheat to the families, whose houses are damaged by floods. He also talked separately to all the flood affected people. Chief Minister also reached the Rescue Center and three relief camps set up in Shahganj and distributed food items there. He assured that all arrangements will be made for their rehabilitation. Member of Parliament Bhargava also lauded the efforts of the government.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state was reeling under the corona crisis, when he took over the government and there were no arrangements to combat this crisis. In a short time, we have not only arranged facilities but also ensured substantial increase in the recovery rate by increasing the corona tests. In the same way, we will solve this crisis, caused by heavy rains and floods very soon. All possible assistance will be provided to all affected families and farmers.
