CM Chouhan releases amount of 15th Finance Commission to Panchayats
Total Rs. 3984 crore given in this fiscal year
Bhopal 05 September 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that seventy percent population of the country dwells in villages. Panchayat Representatives have responsibility to change the picture of villages. The state government will not allow any shortage of resources for the development works. Panchayat representatives should undertake development works with full commitment, transparency and honesty. The Chief Minister Chouhan e-transferred Rs. 996 crore of 15th Finance Commission’s grant with single click to Panchayats. He also addressed the Panchayat Representatives on this occasion. Chief Minister Chouhan lauded the arrangements and works carried out by the Panchayat Representatives during the corona period, in the virtual interaction held from Mantralaya.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Rs. 996 crore received under the Panch Parmeshwar scheme is being made available to the panchayats. Works related to potable water and sanitation have to be done with this amount. In this fiscal year, till now an amount of Rs. 3 thousand 984 crore has already been made available to the panchayats. This will change the picture of villages. On this occasion, it was informed that out of the total amount, 85 percent to Gram Panchayats, 10 percent to Janpad Panchayats and 5 percent to Jila Panchayats is being made available.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Panch Parmeshwar scheme has proved blessings for the villages. With this, gram panchayats have carried out the works of potable water, water conservation, infrastructure construction, sanitizers for protection from corona pandemic, masks, food arrangement for migrant workers, shelter and other administrative works.
Chief Minister Chouhan also sought information from panchayat representatives as regard to Mukhya Mantri Street Vendors scheme, eligibility slip and preparations of food grain distribution as well as the status of execution of Sambal scheme.
Prime Minister to dedicate 1.50 lakh houses on September 12
Chief Minister Chouhan informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate One lakh 50 thousand houses on September 12 with a single click. The Prime Minister will also interact with the panchayat representatives through video conference. Chief Minister Chouhan asked the Panchayat representatives to organize a ceremonial home warming programme for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in their respective areas. Necessary precautions should be ensured to avoid corona, he added.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that with the funds being provided to the panchayats, they will be able to do the works related to community sanitation complex, potable water well, tap water related works, roof water harvesting, sanitation works and water conservation.
In today's programme, all the Jila as well as Janpad panchayats with NIC and all gram panchayats were linked through web link. Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Manoj Shrivastava and other officers were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Chouhan also issued instructions to the Panchayat officials to make preparations for the programme of the Prime Minister. He asked panchayats to speed up the schemes and everyone should work together to accomplish the tasks. All must cooperate in better implementation of Rural Street Vendors scheme, especially to bring the business of small traders back on track. Must work to implement the true spirit of Panchayat Raj on ground, he added.
Chief Minister Chouhan interacts with beneficiaries
Chief Minister has been informed by the Head of Sadumar Panchayat of Chawar Patha Janpad Panchayat of Narsinghpur, Sushri Mona Kaurav that a Gau-Shala has been developed in the village. Works worth more than Rs. 5 crore have been done in the panchayat. An initiative has been taken to build a smart panchayat. The condition of the health center has changed. The department of AYUSH has become active. Efforts are being made to meet the basic needs.
Chief Minister Chouhan told panchayat representatives that you all should have passion for change. Sushri Mona further informed that also an initiative has been taken for conservation of ancient Haveli and pond. Chief Minister Chouhan praised the panchayat and congratulated it for this task.
Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with the Sarpanch Bhaskar Magrade of Gram Panchayat Masod of Betul. He sought information about efforts made to provide employment. Chief Minister Chouhan appreciated the construction of Bharat Mata Temple in Masod.
Hemlata Singh, the Head of the Gehunras Bujurg Panchayat of Jaisinagar Jila Panchayat of Sagar district has told that the youths of the village have gone to Budhni factory for training. Chief Minister Chouhan also held discussions with women members of this gram panchayat. He said that you will be provided with sufficient fund, work hard.
Geeta Devi, Head of Jila Panchayat, Morena, informed in detail about water conservation efforts. She informed Chief Minister Chouhan that rural women have earned income from the manufacturing of masks. Chief Minister Chouhan said that self-help groups should also work to stitch the uniforms. Geeta Devi further informed that the registration work under the Street Vendors scheme is being done at wide level in the district. Chief Minister Chouhan also congratulated Morena for receiving first award under bio-diversity.
