Use of technology started during Corona period should continue: CM Chouhan
Bhopal 13 September 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today reviewed the preparations being made for the Chief Minister’s Annapurna Yojana Ann Utsav to be held on September 16 and the week-long public welfare programmes to be held from September 17 on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Detailed instructions were also given regarding the nature of the programmes to be held at the district level. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed the collectors to make the series of public welfare programmes a success. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the work of providing eligibility slips and ration packets to 37 lakh new consumers of the state through a live programme on September 16 is an innovative attempt to change the lives of these people. This is not the programme of any one department, it is an important campaign of the state government, and all departments including rural development, revenue, agriculture should make efforts to make it a success. Five kilograms of wheat, rice, one kg salt and 1.5 litres of kerosene per family per member will be distributed. The beneficiaries will receive 5 kg additional food grains and one kg pulses per family free of cost under PMGKAY till November 2020. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains was present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that efforts are being made to ensure that maximum number of people are able to get benefit and the message of public welfare programmes through proper use of technology in the Corona period. In this series the welfare programmes of street vendors of the state and the Grihapravesh programme of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries have been successfully completed along with Prime Minister Modi’s address and interaction with the beneficiaries. This chain will continue. Chief Minister Chouhan said that with the help of technology, channels like social media, electronic media, webcast are connecting citizens of the state with these programmes. Chief Minister Chouhan said that records should be set by including more people. For this, more people should be added through pre-registration. It is also a powerful means of implementing government programmes with transparency. Chief Minister Chouhan has instructed Principal Secretary Food and Civil Supplies Faiz Ahmed Kidwai to review the preparations related to Ann Utsav being made at the district level. Chief Minister Chouhan held discussions with some collectors and sought information about the Ann Utsav preparations. On this occasion, it was informed that a total of 300 people including 200 beneficiaries would take part in the Ann Utsav at the district level. The programme will be held at the district level from 11.30 am to 12.15 pm. The state level programme will start at 12.30 pm which will continue for about 50 minutes. Beneficiaries will be benefited at the level of ration shops in the districts.
Public welfare programmes will be held from September 17 to 23
Milk will be distributed in the Anganwadi centres of the state on the birthday of Prime Minister Modi’s birthday on September 17. The identified malnourished children will be benefited from this. About 4 lakh such children have been identified in the state. On September 18, Rs four thousand 688 crores of crop insurance amount will be distributed to 22 lakh 51 thousand farmers in the state. Similarly, on September 19, about 30 thousand forest rights pattas will be distributed. The eligible forest dwellers of about 47 districts of the state will take advantage of this. Self-help groups will be benefited on September 20. They will be provided an amount of about Rs 150 crore for empowerment. Programmes will be held on September 21 to provide loan of Rs 10 thousand to street vendors of rural areas of the state. Similarly, on September 22, funds will be transferred at the rate of Rs 25 thousand in the accounts of 16 thousand 184 meritorious children in the state for laptops. Teachers and parents will also be involved in this programme. In the public welfare programme, the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana will be benefited on September 23. Cooperatives will join and coordinate the programme at about 900 places in the state.
CM Chouhan’s instructions
- Do not use single use plastic and water bottles in the programmes as per the call of Prime Minister Modi.
- Madhya Pradesh should be made an exemplar with the view of these welfare programmes of the poor.
- All departments should cooperate to implement these programmes in full capacity.
- Maximum benefit of this technique should be taken during the Corona period.
