Bhopal: Sant-Mahant, Parikramavasi and general public performed Narmada Aarti on the second day of Namami Devi Narmade –Seva Yatra in Bharkachchhkalan village of Raisen district following which the Yatra proceeded further. The Yatra was accorded a grand welcome by villagers with flower showers on its way. A large number of women in similar attire carrying kalash on their heads, reached the village gate to welcome the yatra. On the Narmada Seva Yatra’s arrival, people performed pujan of the Narmada flag. Local MLA Ramkishan Patel, Madhya Pradesh State Employees Welfare Commission Chairman Ramesh Sharma and other people’s representatives were also present on the occasion.
Narmada Seva Yatra reached Gadarvas from Bharkachchhkalan where it was given a grand welcome and a Jan Samvad programme was organized. MLA Ramkishan Patel, Madhya Pradesh State Employees Welfare Commission Chairman Ramesh Sharma and other people’s representatives talked about Narmada and environment conservation. They said that we would have to plant saplings in a large number to maintain purity and for incessant flow of water of the Narmada. They made the crowd present during the programme to inspire others to resolve towards Narmada conservation, plant saplings on the banks of the Narmada, stop immersing waste material into the Narmada and to maintain the sanctity of the river.

People were made to resolve towards cleanliness and conservation of the Narmada river in the Jan Samvad programme during the Yatra. The Yatra reached Biser village in the afternoon where during a Jansamvad programme, Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, Maharaj Brahmanand of Motalsir and Maharaj Madanmohan Das of Vankhedi asked all those present to give their ‘Ahuti’ in the yagya in the form of Narmada Seva Yatra initiated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Narmada river conservation.
They said that we shall have to rise today for our peaceful future and the whole society would come forward towards conservation and promotion of our lifeline rivers. Praising the Seva Yatra Abhiyan initiated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan they called upon people from all sections of the society to take part in the yatra. MLA Ramkishan Patel, Madhya Pradesh State Employees Welfare Commission Chairman Ramesh Sharma, Collector Smt. Bhavna Valimbe, S.P and other people’s representatives were present during the Jan Samvad programme.-WTN
