Demands increase in urea allocation of state from 18 lakh to 22 lakh metric tonne
Bhopal 29 September 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today called on Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers Shri D.V. Sadanand Gowda in the latter’s office in New Delhi. Chief Minister Chouhan demanded an allocation of 22 lakh metric tonnes of urea for Rabi crop year 2020-21 for the state from Sadanand Gowda. Chouhan urged Gowda to increase the allocation of urea in the state from 18 lakh metric tonne (1.00 lakh metric tonne reserve) to 22 lakh metric tonne in view of the interests of the farmers of the state.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that with adequate rains in the Rabi year 2020-21, the area of wheat is expected to increase by about 10 lakh hectare compared to the previous Rabi. With this in view, 22 lakh metric tonne urea will be required for the Rabi year 2020-21 in the state.
