Contribution of All is Must in Narmada Seva Yatra

Forest Minister Dr. Shejwar in Jan-Samvad Programme held at Mangrol of Raisen Distt.  

Bhopal: Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar said that “Namami Devi Narmade”- Seva Yatra is a multi objective campaign. It has religious, scientific, social and cultural importance. We always express gratitude towards the one who gives. Narmada is our lifeline. Moreover Narmada is pivotal for the development of the state. It produces electricity and provide water for irrigation beside drinking to several villages and cities of the state. Dr. Shejwar was addressing the Jan-Samvad programme in village Mangrol of district Raisen during the yatra.

Dr. Shejwar mentioned that plantation will be carried out on government and private land on both the banks of Narmada River to increase water flow. An annual grant of Rs. 20 thousand per hectare will be provided to the farmers for plantation.

Preparations have been made to plant 5 crore saplings on the banks of river Narmada on July 2. He further said that toilets will be constructed in all the villages situated on the banks of Narmada River. Sewage water will not be allowed to release in Narmada river. He said that poojan material should not be immersed in Narmada but it should be immersed in poojan kunds being made on the banks of river Narmada. Sants have also supported this. Dr. Shejwar said that idols should not be immersed in river Narmada and last funeral rites should be performed in shanti dhams. Furthermore, he stated that liquor will not be sold in the radius of 5 k.m. of Narmada river from April 1 and awareness will be generated among the people for de-addiction.
Minister of state for Technical Education, Skill Development (Independent Charge), Sschool and Labour, Deepak Joshi said that the feeling through which, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan started this innovative Yatra is praiseworthy. When environment is good, the world will be free from diseases and becomes happy. He said that next world war will be for water. Mother Narmada provide drinking and irrigation water. He appealed for cooperation from all for purity and flow of Narmada river. Joshi asked to take resolution for not causing pollution in the river and protect Narmada and environment.

 Joshi said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made provision of Rs 1000 crore in Meritorious Student Scheme for youth. The government will pay fee of meritorious students. Children of financially-weaker persons will become doctors and engineers.

 Awadheshpuri Maharaj of Ujjain Akhara Parishad and Brahmachari Maharaj said that Narmada Seva Yatra is a big campaign. They said that there is no life, if there are no trees. Trees are equal to God. This is praiseworthy that arrangement has been made to protect trees along with planting them. They said that participation of all is needed for protection and conservation of Narmada river. MLA Ramkishan Patel also addressed.

 Before this Jan Samvad, Aarti of Narmada was held. Kalash and Dhwaj pujan was held in the beginning. District Cooperative Bank Chairman Shivaji Patel, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Employee Welfare Committee Ramesh Chandra Sharma, Badi Janpad President Makarand Singh, Vice Chairman of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Pradip Pandey, Collector Bhawna Walimbe, SP Jagat Singh Rajput, Narmada Seva Yatris and villagers were present. -WTN
