PM Modi inaugurates property card distribution in Swamitva Yojana

Bhopal 11 October 2020: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Swamitva Yojana is a big step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. A concrete initiative has been taken to fulfill the goal of providing property cards to every family. Ownership of one’s house awakens one’s self-respect. Life of new faith begins. It makes sale and purchase of property and availing bank loans easier. Prime Minister Modi was inaugurating the property card distribution created for the people of 763 villages of 6 states of the country including Madhya Pradesh today.

 
In Madhya Pradesh, 10 thousand villages of 10 districts have been selected in the first year. With the help of Survey of India, a Government of India unit, maps were constructed through drones and on this basis Record of Rights is being developed through door-to-door survey in the rural settlements. Population survey work has been started in Dindori, Sehore and Harda from the month of June in Madhya Pradesh. So far, Record of Rights of 49 villages has been published.

PM Modi interacts with Dashrath of Dindori

Prime Minister Modi interacted with Dashrath Singh Maravi, a beneficiary of Dindori district selected from among the beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi asked Dashrath Singh whether any fight was caused due to the drone coming in the village and whether there was any problem in obtaining the paper. Dashrath Maravi replied to Prime Minister Modi that he did not face any problem. This is a good work. Prime Minister Modi told the beneficiaries that now no one would be able to eye their property with bad intention. The Prime Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of other states.

Prime Minister Modi said that work on a large scale will be undertaken for mapping survey and land record maintenance through drones. Swamitva Yojana will not only make the property card available to the people, but it will also facilitate development works. The work of panchayats is also being completed in a transparent manner through technology. Geo tagging has been made mandatory for the works. Prime Minister Modi said that when he interacted with the villagers, he came to know that the villagers become very happy to see the picture of the village taken from a height using the drone in the village for Swamitva Yojana. It increases love for their village in them. Swamitva Yojana is also very useful in boosting self-confidence and ending disputes as a record of the property is made. Under the scheme, 1.25 crore people have got registered. This scheme will definitely result in historical changes in the villages. Prime Minister Modi congratulated Union Minister of Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Agriculture, Narendra Singh Tomar and his Ministry for launching this significant scheme. At the outset, Union Minister Tomar gave the welcome address.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also took part in this programme from Minto Hall Studio, Bhopal. Among other who joined the programme were Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Features of Swamitva Yojana

·         Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched the scheme on April 24, 2020.
·         The scheme will be implemented in a phased manner in the country in four years.
·         As many as 6.62 lakh villages of the country will be covered.
·         In the Pilot phase, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Rajasthan besides Madhya Pradesh are included.
·         The property owners will have the facility to download property cards by giving a link through SMS on mobile phones.
·         State governments will carry out physical distribution of the property cards.
·         This scheme will enable the property owners to use their property as a financial asset.
·         Property cards will be given different names in different states. In Madhya Pradesh, the property card has been named as Record of Rights, Sanad in Maharashtra, Gharoni in Uttar Pradesh, Title Deed in Haryana, Rural Property Ownership Record (RPOR) in Karnataka – Window to News
